ReCap: Summer in the City: Week 3

Another weekend in Boston.

And after a very long week in the office I found myself struggling to fight off the Hermit syndrome.

But thanks to all of you I did manage to break free of the apartment and do a little exploring.

So here's what happened in D-Town:

I Spy With My Little Eye. . . Chris Cooper.

While attending the Boston Selected Shorts reading, one of my favorite public radio programs, the completely unexpected pre-curtain sighting of Chris Cooper absolutely tickled me pink. Who knew the man was a New Englander?

That said the readings were extraordinary and a gentle reminder of how little "extras" are needed to create moments of pure inspiration and beauty. A microphone, a music stand, a short story and a storyteller.

Absolutely Brilliant!

There be Dragons in that River.

The rain stopped just in time for the 34 Annual Dragon Boat Festival on the Charles. Boats, Music, Dance, Food, Sunshine and Puppies. A perfect combination for a leisurely day on the River.

Dragon Boat HighlightOdaiko New England, Taiko Drumming . . . those girls were fierce and I may have just found my new hobby.
